Outdoor Advertising Hall of Fame Open for Voting

The Outdoor Media Centre and Campaign have launched a project to gather votes for an Outdoor Hall of Fame. A panel of experts has picked 228 outdoor ads spanning five decades. You get to vote for ten.

The 60’s aren’t heavily conceptual, but the craft was impeccable. The 70’s start to get really interesting with a heavy dose of visual metaphors. In the 80’s, we start to see creative use of the outdoor environment. I’m actually a little disappointed with the 90’s, but we start to see ambient advertising creep in. And the 2000’s start to show how the advertising industry’s arsenal has expanded with more diverse use of copy, visual solutions and concepts. 50 years of outdoor advertising. Truly inspiring.

My ten votes are below. Let us know what you think in the comments. Then go vote yourself.
